About Me

I am a multidisciplinary artist and educator who is passionate about exploring the intersections between the arts and social justice.  A singer, theatre artist, mover, and poet, my work spans multiple genres, contexts, and locales. Fun fact: I'm a member of Actors' Equity and a Latin Grammy Nominated musician with a repertoire ranging from opera to contemporary to Afro-Cuban Jazz. I've had the privilege to appear as a featured vocalist in concert at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and The Apollo Theater, among others. As an Arts Educator and Facilitator, I've been involved with a number of organizations using theatre, music, and dance to educate and uplift NYC, immigrant, and refugee youth. I am a recipient of the Innovative Cultural Advocacy Fellowship from The Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) and the Jennifer Saltzstein Kaffenberger Fellowship from Artists Striving To End Poverty (ASTEP) for my work with Unaccompanied Minors. In my life as a writer and poet, I have participated in workshops at Cave Canem and The Leslie-Lohman Museum, where I was subsequently published in the magazine The Archive. Most recently, I am an EMERGENYC 2019 Artist with The Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics and a 2019 YP4 (Young People For) Fellow, and I currently work for The DreamYard Project, an arts education organization in The South Bronx.
